CITY SIDE COLLAPSE IN KNOCK OUT FINAL NGONGOTAHA WIN CONTEST A disappointing final in the knockout competition was witnessed at Ngongotaha on Saturday afternoon, when City played Ngongotaha to decide the winners of the contest. The wicket was far from good and lacked life. Ngongotaha batted first and compiled 66 runs, the highest scorer being Lowe, who made 17 of this total. Godsalve was the most destructive City bowler, taking five wickets for 15 runs. Although having only eight batsmen, City had two hours in which to pass the score made by their oprononts, but staged what was probably the worst batting debacle in local cricket history, the side being all out for only 10 runs. Fllis, bowling for Ngongotaha, could barely be scored against, and in his first over performed the "hat trick." Many of his wickets were secured with "shooters," but some deliveriers could have safely been treated with less respect by the City batsmen. Ngongotaha won by 56 runs.
