REPORT FROM BAY SECESSION OF ROTORUA PROVISIONALLY APPROVED TAUPO AGREEMENT REQUIRED A report on the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union held on ApriM) at Whakatane, was presented to the management committee of the Rotorua sub-union at a meeting held last evening by the chairman, Mr T. S; Robertson, who was also a delegate to the Bay. The Rotorua sub-union's request for permission to secede from the Bay of Plenty, said Mr. Robertson, was read and supported by himself, and the two other delegates, was not opposed, subject to the coneurrence of the Taupo Union. The condition imposed by the union was briefly discussed by the management committee and it was stated that word was expected from Taupo today stating their attitude regarding the proposal to leave the Bay and join the Waikato Union. I Mr. A. de Luen moved and Mr. Windler seconded, that a vote of thanlcs be accorded the delegates to the Bay of Plenty for their satisfactory report. This was carried by acclamation. It was decided that application he made to the Tourist Department for the re-installation of the practice lights iji the Government Grounds on the same basis as previously.
Continuing his report on the Bay of Plenty meeting Mr. Robertson said that the officers of the Bay of Plenty Union elected for the ensuing year are: — Patron, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, M.P.; president, Mr. W. Wilkie (re-elected) ; vice-presidents, all presidents of sub-unions; secretarytreasurer, Mr. Gemming (re-elected); auditor, Mr. Ruddy (re-elected). Management Committee: Mr Butler (Tauranga), Mr. Anderson (Rangataiki), Mr. Cuff (Te Puke), Mr. Boon (Whakatane) and Mr. Robertson (Rotorua). Selectors: Messrs Bennett, (Opotiki), F. Butt (Rangitaiki), and T. Anderson (Rotorua). Delegates to N.Z.R.F.U. on the 14th inst. Messrs j Butler, Simmonds and Parata. It was decided by the Bay of Plenty Union that the holders of the HurunuiApanui Shield shall not be eligible for the Parata Cup competition. The affiliation fees are to remain the same as last year (£3 3/-) and admittance to matches under the union's jurisdiction will be one shilling and sixpence for men and one shilling for ladies. The financial year will end on January 31.
