ROTORUA TO SECEDE FROM BAY OF PLENTY UNION DIS CIPLINAR Y RULES Considerable and somewhat heated discussion on what was described as the unfair treatment meeted out by the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union to the Rotorua sub-union during past seasons toolc place at a meeting of the Rotorua Rugby management committee on Monday evening. The president of the Rotorua Union, Mr. T. S. Robertson, occupied the chair. The delegates to the Bay of Plenty Union's annual meeting, Messrs. Robertson, A. G. Cottrell and L. Clarke were instructed to get the Bay of Plenty to agree to the secession of the Rotorua Union. The seeretary, Mr. W. Henderson, was instructed to write the Bay of Plenty asking permission to secede and stating that Rotorua wished to join the Waikato Union. ' , It was decided that all correspondence between the Bay of Plenty and Rotorua be forwarded direct to the New Zealand Rugby Union. It was also decided to write to Mr. Ned Parata, a member of the New Zealand Rugby Union, explaining the position and requesting his assistance. An emergency committee, ,comprising the president, Mr. A. de Luen, and the seeretary, was elected for the season. The gate charges for this year are to > be reduced to sixpence per person and season membership tielcets, available to anyone, are to he provided for five shillings. These charges, however, do not' include representative football matches. Capitation fees to the union have been reduced from one shilling to sixpence per player and club affiliation fees to £1 10s for seniors and 15s for juniors. The High School are exempted from playing fees. Teams failing to take the field at the appointed time or appearjng improperly dressed are to be penalised by a fine of one shilling per offending player. .A committee of six, consisting of Messrs. Robertson, A. G. Cottrell, W. G. Harwood, L. Clarke, R. Mason, and the seeretary, was set up to revise the constitution of the union, and was instructed to report to' the executive committee not later than May 16.
