MATAMATA STOCK SALE ! The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report: — I At Matamata stock sale on WedI nesday, we penned a heavy yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of ■ cattle. Sheep were not in keen demand and prices in many cases did not reach the owners' reserves. Rul- , ing rates were maintained on cattle. J There was an extra heavy yarding of fat and store pigs, with a big proportion of light porkers. Values were firm throughout the sale and prices were on a par with Frankton rates. There was a. total yarding of 700 pigs sold. ' Quotations : — Sheep: Fat lambs, 12s 6d; fat^ wethers, 13s 3d; forward conditioned* lambs, 6s to 7s 3d; fat ewes, 6s 7d; store ewes, ls to 4s; S.M. ewes, 5s to 8s; two-tooth ewes, small 8s; store lambs, 5s to 6s 6d. i Cattle: Fat bullocks, £5 5s; fat cows, £1 15s to £2 5s; killable cows, £1 5s to £1 15s; fresh store cows, 18s to £1 4s; boners, 7s 6d to 16s; potter bulls, heavy, £2 10s to £3 10s; light, ; £1 2s 6d to £2 5s; choice heifer calv- . es, £2 5s.
Pigs: Choppers, heavy, 34s to 38s; lighter choppers, 20s to _30s; heavy baconers, 38s to £2; medium, 32s to 37s; light baconers, 29s to 31s; heavy porkers, 25s to 28s; medium porkers, 21s to 25s; light porkers, 16s to 20s; stores, 9s to 12s; slips, 6s to 9s 6d; weaners, 3s 6d to 6s; Barkshire boars £2 2s to £2 12s 6d. SHEEP AT FRANKTON The New Zealand Loan and MerI cantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report on their weekly store sheep sale held at Frankton yards, on Wednesday, as follows: — ! An average entry of store. wethers changed hands under keen competitiin at very satisfactory prices, while a large offering of store lambs and a medium one of ewes were. hard to quit. Forward wethers made from 10s lOd to 13s ld; store wethers, 10s to 10s 9d; poorer, 8s to 9s 9d; five-year ewes, 6s 8d to 6s lld; other ewes, 5s 5d to 6s 6d; good quality store lambs, 6s to 6s 8d; average, 5s 6d to 5s lOd; lighter, 4s 6d to 5s 3d.
