SHANGHAI, Tuesday. After many days of wrangling the Sino-Japanese eonference has agreed to a formal cessation of hostilities, but foreign observers are not optii raistic of an early settlement. j Sniping of Japanese outposts by the \ Chinese eontinues daily.
