The Government meteorologist |s. sued the following weather repbrt and forecast last night: — General Situation: A rather intense anti-cyclone now covers the Domin ion. Forecast: Winds, southerly, to moderate generally, but freshening about Cook Strait a'nd between Kai. koura and the East Cape, later be. coming variable. Weather: Fair to fine generally cool temperatures and some inland frosts to-night. Following are the barometer, maxi. mum and m'rnimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Gov. ernment Observation Station .by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yester. day:— > * Barometer .... 29,245ins, Thermometer (max.) 65.6deg.
