PHAR LAP EXPECTED TO MAKE SATISFACTORY START FROM STALL TEN OTHER STARTERS

— By Telegraph — Copyright).

Rec. Mar. 20, 11 p.m. AGUASCALIENTES, Saturday As expected a field of 11 is named for the big handicap. The starting fee is £100 The horses will go to the post in the following order: Good and Hot, Scimitar, Spanish Play, Reveille Boy, Bahamas, Joe Flores, Seth's Hope, Dr. Freeland, Phar Lap, Marine, Cabeso. Phar Lap's position as No. 9, is considered good, as it permits the long striding horse to break through interference. He will have no bad actors close to him, such as Reveille Boy. Nor is it considered likely that.he will be inconvenienced by the starting stalls from which the horses will start, though it will be his first experierice of them. The odds on the eve before the race made Phar Lap favourite, Spanish Play and Reveille Boy being next. The starting- time is approximately ^0.30 Monday morning Australian time. The winner will receive 41,250 dol-' lars of added money, plus all nomination fees. The amount guaranteed is 50,000 dollars, but the club officials believe that the total will exceed that sum.
