Fishing "Regatta" Fishing assumed a regatta aspect in parts of Lake Rotorua yesterday. At one period during the afternoon, there were no fewer than f our launches and three open boats operating in the bay adjacent to Cochrane Park, and at one stage four craft lying close together were all landing fish. Trolling is particularly good at present in both the bays off the Ohau Channel entrance and yesterday all rods operating in this area took good catches. Now that the fish are commencing to run into the channel both the Rotorua end and the Rotoiti outlet are providing good fly-fisliing, while a few rods have also been trying out the prospeets in the channel itself. Tennis Interrupted. Rain which set in on Saturday afternoon, interrupted the representative tennis fixture between the Waikato East Association and the Bay of Plenty Sub-Association which was to have been played on the Government Grounds courts. Several matches had been commenced, but although it was not heavy, the rain was sufficient to compel the postponement of play. The interruption was doubly unfortunate as in addition to the Waikato visitors, several members of the Bay tcam had come from as far afield as Tauranga and Opotiki. Cricket Association Dance Invitations have been issued for the Rotorua Cricket Association's dance which will be held in the Majestic Ballroom on Wednesday, April 6. The dance, which will serve as a fitting close to the cricket season, will be all the more interesting by reason of the official presentation to the Albion Club of the McLean Cup, which that club has won in this season's competition. A number of novelty dances will be included among the many popular numbers to be played by Epi Slaalfoon's Melody Boys Orchestra, and the committee are leaving no stone unturned to make the evening a most enjoyable one.
