LOSS qf STEAMER DUE TO STRIKING SUBMERGED OBJECT OFFICERS EXONERATED

Rec. Mar. 16, 8.10 p.m. . ' SYDNEY, Wednesday. At the marine inquiry into the loss of the steamer Northern Firth off Brush Island, on the South Coast, on February 1, the Court found that the vessel struck a submerged obstruction, not shown on the Admiralty chart, .and therefore recommendqd a further examination of the locality. The second mate, who was on watch at the time of stranding, was exonerated from blame.
