Lord Wemyss and Lady Angela St. Clair Erskine., who are at present spending a fishing holiday in Taupo, are enjoying excellent sport and have taken such good bags that they have decided to extend their holiday a further week. For five and a half day's fiy fishing, Lord Wemyss and Lady Erskine took 117 fish, averaging 51bs, and with the heaviest fish weighing 8|lbs.
A new street light is being erected in Hinemoa Street east, between Hinemaru Street and the entrance to the Government Gardens. It was considered by the Borough Council that a light was necessary here, as the street was dark and was in constant use at night by people going to and from the baths.
