SHARP FALL IN BEEF VALUES AT FRANKTON SALE LAMBS REMAIN FIRM HAMILTON, Tuesday. Owing to the continued dry weather there was an exceptionally heavy yarding of beef at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards, and prices were very much below late quotations. Beef has hardly ever heen as cheap in Hamilton as it was to-day. Fat sheep w®ere penned in large numhers and here again there. was a slight decline. Lambs were in good deniand and prices were very firm. Pigs were penned in large. numbers and there was no alteration iri values. The following were the. ruling prices : — Sheep: Prime wethers, 13/2 to 13/6; fat wethers 11/10 to 12/9; extra prime ewes, to 10/-; fat ewes 6/9 ■to 7/3; medium ewes, 5/6 to 6/6; prime hoggets, 12/4 to 14/-; prim'e fat lambs 13/8 to 15/6; medium 11/3. to 12/6. Cattle: Prime Steers, £5 7/- to £6; medium £3 15/- to £5; fat cows, £"3 .2/6 to £4 5/-; fat heifers £3 5/- to £4 10/-. Pigs: Baconers £2 to £2 4/-; porkers 247- tq 28/-.
