Anglers generally report excellent fishing at Taupo during the p'ast week, with a general improvement in the bags taken on the fly. A number of lieavy fish have been landed and one Rotorua resident who has recently returned from" Tongariro reports seeing a 121b, a 101b, a 91b and an 81b fish all landed at one fishing point by different parties of .anglers during a day. The fish are reported to he in exceptlopally good copdition. Good catches reported last week were those of Mr. Holden, of Hamilton, who took 14 fish at Jellicoe Point for an evening's fishing, and Mr. Myers, of Palmerston North, who also tqok a double figure catch at the month of the Hatepe. Mr. Holden's catch included h i41b hrown trout and Mr. Myers' bag, a 101b rainbow. On Thursday and Friday of last week, Lord Wemyss and Lady St, Clair Erskine, who are at present in Taupo, took 15 and 12 fish respectively, fiy-fishing from a lannch.
