LONDON, Wednesday. The Dail Eireann has re-asgembled. Mr. Frank Fahy (a supporter ,of .the Fianna Fail from Galway) was elected Speaker by 78 yptes,ito. Vf .vptes. Mr. de Yalera was .appointed President by 81 votes to.68 yotes. Mr. de Yalera, the newly-elected President of the Dail, has announced the personnel of his Cabinet and the allotment of portfolios as under: — Mr. Sean O'Kelly. — Vice-Presid ent of the Executive, Local Government and Public Health, Mr. Sean McEntee. — Finance. Dr. Ryan. — Agriculture. Mr. Thomas Derrig. — Education. Mr. Sean Lemass. — Industry and Commerce. Mr. Frank Aiken. — Defence. Mr. Patrick Rutleage. — Fisheries. Mr. James Geoghegan. — Justice. Senator Joseph Connolly. — ^Post Offiee. The precinets of the Dail were crowded when the deputies toqk their seats in the horse-shoe shaped hall. . The Fianna Fail members remained on the Opposition benehqs. The two women deputies, Mra O'Briscoll (a sister of the late Mr. Michael Collins) and Mrs Reynolds, sat together in Jeep mourning. When Mr. Fahy was proposed for the Speakership, Mr. Cosgrave urged that Mr. Hayes should be re-elected.

He said is was essential to keep the Soeakership out of party politics. The Labourites, however, approved of Mr. Fahy, though Mr. Hogan (a Labourite and late Deputy Speaker, admitted that it was a mistake to make the Speakership a political offiee. Mr. de Valera was then proposed for the Presidency. Mr. J. Dillon (Independent), supported ihe proposal, but added that if the Republiear.s tmbarked on an economic war with friendly nations he would oppose Mr de Valera. The latter's election was greeted v,ith w^d cheering, in which the gal; leries joined, and the Republicans on the floor of the House made a demonstration which was renewed on tlie streets when Mr. de Yalera went to vhe Governor-General to announce his Ministers. He returned at six o'cloclc, when ihe Fianna Fail changed places with the members of Mr. Cosgrave's party, who took seats on the Opposition benehes. It is understood the Dail will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday and thqn adjourn for several weeks for the t'reparation of the Budget.
