ST. JOHN'S GARDEN PARTY

A very successful garden party, promoted by St. John's Ladies' Guild, took place in the Manse grounds, on Tuesday afternoon. A well stocked stall of produce, sweets and cakes presided over by Mesdames Purcell, Gainsford, W. Jones, Wrigley and Green, was most successful. Mrs. Black was in eharge of a lovely display of, flowers, and afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames A. Steele, Mitehell, Angus, ,T. Lindsay, Lovie, McLean and Gordon. Clock golf and competitions were run by Mesdames Walden and Spedding and the Misses Green, and A. Woolliams. The winners proved to he Mrs. E. Johnson, Miss Joyce Hyde and Mr. C. Randerson. A gramophone and records, kindly lent by Miss Macdermott, added greatly to the pleasure of all present.
