FATAL EXPLOSION IN FACTORY OIL FURNACE FOREMAN DIES IN AGONY

AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Enveloped in a sheet of burning oil, as the result of an explosion in the furnace- he was attending at the factory of Grain Produets Limited, at Newton, William Albert Dempsey, was shockingly burned about 11 a.m. to-day. In spite of agonising injuries, Dempsey remained conscious for seven hours before he died. He was regulating the furnace when an internal explosion occurred. Dempsey, who was foreman at the factory, was 44 years of age and leaves a wife and family.
