The Government meteorologist Jssu»d the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: The cycione which has been ce'ntred north-east of New Zealand is moving in a southerly direction. An anti-cyclone lies to the south and west of the South Isiand, Forecast: Winds south to southeasterly, moderate to strong. Weather: Further rain along the East Coast between Akaroa and East Cape, more especiaily north of Napier; eisewhere fair to fine with cooler temperatures. Following are the barometer, maxl- " mum and mfnimum thermometer and ralnfaii readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourjst Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Rarometer 29.832ins.
