FEDERAL ARBITRATION COURT SAYS PRIVILEGES ABUSED

Rec. Mar. 7, 11 p.m. MELBOURNE, Mondav. Judge Beeby, in the Federal Arbitration Court, refused an application hy the Waterside Workers' Federation for preference for its members. He fixed' the wage rate for ordinaiy time at 2/4 an hour, which is an increase of 21 d for all States except Queensland, where it is a reduction of 3J'd. Judge Beeby said that time ahd again this union had ahused preference privileges hy striking and the Court could not now grant preference except as against those employers vho discriminated against unionism; nor could the court he guided hy political changes.
