The Government meteorologist is. sued the ToHow'ing weather report and forecast last hight:— - | General Situatio'n: The tropical dis. turbance is still centred north-north-east of New Zealand, while pressure is very high in the South. A shailow westerly depression is advancing across the South Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds, south-westerly in and north of Ccfok strdit, strong to gale force in ptaces in the South lsland. Weather: DuII, with rain in the Auckland province and between Cook: Strait and Hawke's Bay, with heavy falls in the rforth and north-'east, elsewhere mainly fair. Temperatures moderate. FoJIowing are the barometer, maxi. mum and mfnimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Gov. ernment Observatlon Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yester. day: — Barometer 30.042ins, Thermometer (max.) 69.7deg, Thermometer (min. on grass) 56.5deg, Rainfall .... .... ....
