CUSTARD SPONGE.
Separate yolks from whites of 4 eggs. Put a large tablespoon of cornflour and one of sugar in a basin with j yolks and use vanilla. Beat until quite smooth, adding a little cold milk. Next pour 12 pints boiling milk. Put all in a saucepan and stir till it boils. Then add whites beaten to a stiff froth. Mix well and serve cold.
