PBIME MIN.I^TER'5 FQRECAST PROBABLY SQMEWHAT QPTIMJSTIC LABOUR OPPOSITION PROMISED
WELLINGTON, Tuesday. I From present indications .it would seem that the Prime Minister's forecast that the Parliamentary session opened to-dgy "will be concluded by the. end of March is a, little optimistic. In. spite of Mr. Forbes's assuranee,- there will be a certain amount I of marking time, as, although it is' reported that certain Bills, including the amendment.to the Industrial Coneiliation and • Arbitration Aet are. heady, the Government has to wajt for the interim repprt qf the Econqmy Commission, which is due - on March' 1. It is- obvious that legislation arising' from the report would take some little time to prepare. The Address-in-Reply debate should take seyeral days, as. the Labour Party, which now numbers 24. itiemhers, -vvill not lose the opportun-. ity of ventjlating its criticism of the Government. Labour has also promiped strenuous opposition to griy interference with the Arhitraiipn Gourt, ■ vage cuts, on dismissals from the .civil service. ■
