MAJESTIC
TO-NIGHT The curt'ain was raised last night at the Majestic Theatee on the longawaited sequel in talk to Herbert Brenon's silent classie, "Beau Geste." That grand masterpiece of desert drama, forerunner of all the hot, fevered screen plays laid in Morocco was reincarnated in a stirring talking production last night. "Beau Ideal," sequel to Percival Wren's' original tale of the Gestes. With Ralph Forb'es in his original role of John Geste, with Herbert Brenon's masterful hand- again in evidence, this' time ih' the skilful direction of talking scenes, and' with a cast , includlng the lovely Loretta Young, Irene Rich, Lester Vail, Don Alvarado and Leni Stengel, "Beau Ideal" f , nobly carries on the tradition of hot- ! sand-and-thunder drama. It is a ! beautifully mounted and handsomely performed film. None can deny its thrills, its sweeping drama and generous romance. Mr. Brenon is a past master at the art of delineating the desert and its heroic warriors, the Arabs, and the French Foreign Legion. With the vast background of "Beau Geste" to draw on, and a superlative story in its suceessor of "Beau Ideal'," he has fasllioned a knowingly dramatic tale of the Foreign Legion' and its members. A surprise ending, which, of course, it would be trnfair to divulge here, makes "Beau Ideal" a fine- entertainment and a superior suceessor to the classic "Beau Geste.'" By all means don't miss "Beau (Ideal™ if you liked "Beau Geste."
