BIG CONFERENCE

ANNUAL GATHERING OF N.Z. CHEMISTS IN ROTORUA NEXT MONDAY A large number of delegates from all over New Zealand will attend the 12 annual conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, which will open in Rotorua next Monday and will continue on March 1, 2, 3 and 4. The conference was originally to have been held in Rotorua last year, but was postponed on account of the Napier earthquake. The conference will be officially j opened by the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, on Monday evening, although deliberations will commence with a morning and afternoon session. The whole of the next day will fce devoted to conference business, but following morning and afternoon sessions on Wednesday, delegates wiljl attend a Maori concert in the evening. There will be a respite from business all day on Thursday, March 3, when a picnic excursion has been arranged. The conference will conclude on March 4, when, after a business session in the morning, members will hold a bowling tournament among themselves in the afternoon. In the evening, the adjourned meeting of the Pharmaceutical Board will be held, when the conference will. officially close. This year's president of the Society is Mr. Edward Smith, of Auckland, and the conference chairman will be Mr. W. Jeffrey, of Te Awamutu.
