THE WEATHER
JHa Government meteorologist is. sued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: The cyclone re. sponsible for the recent disturbed weather is * centred north of the Phatham islands, and a very deep de. pression is located over the. southern Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong south-westerly to south-easterly, decreasing gradually, and later becoming 'northerly. Weather: Still cloudy with much mist or fog and some showers . in most districts, but especially in the eastern districts, but probably a temporary improvement should take place. Following are the barometer, maxi. mum and mi'nimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at thfe Gov» ernment Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.553ms, Thermometer (max.) 66.2deg. Thermometer (min. on grasS) 51.8deg. Rainfall .... .... Nil
