BEAUTIFYING ROTORUA

(To the Editor) Sir, — I was pleased to see that the Ratepayers' Association has wakened up; it is nearly time they had something to say if they are to keep themselves a strong body. They can keep the council in its place. I see they are talking about spending a few thousand pounds on Fenton Street. Now after this is all iinished, where are they going to get the money to maintain the street? It seems they are going to rely on the poor relief worker to do the work, and use the people's money for high-paid officials to supervise them. I think there must be an epidemic called "Town Planning," and this council has a bad attack of it. — I am, 6tC. UNCLE JIM. Rotorua, February 20.
