LONDON, Thursday. The death is announced of King Freidrich August of Saxony. ALLEGED BRIBE AUCKLAND, Friday. A middle-.aged man, Phillip Fielding Farnworth was remanded to-day on a charge fhat on February 10, with intent to defraud, he obtained from Ch.arles Luther Lee £20, by falsely represepting that he would he paying the amount to two detective-sergeants as a bribe to arrange that the bookmaking business carried op hy Farnworth and Lee would be free from prosecution.
