Some time ago a visitor from "little old New Zealand" (he has since retu'rned) was entertained at a smoke concert given in his honour by the club, and delighted the boys by handing round some tins of New Zealand toasted tobaeco. All who sampled ' It pronounced it "Kapai," and said that for mellowness, flavour and bouquet it knoeked the American hrands into the proverbial cocked hat. Everybody listened with keen interest when the guest of the evening remarked: "Not only is our New Zealand tohacco the purest in the world btit it possesses the added merit of being safe to smoke to any extent, beeause it is toasted, 'and the toasting neutralises the nlcotine in it."
