POUTI CAL. SCANDAL MISAPPROPRIATION ALLEGED AGAINST PREM1ER OF NEWFOUNDLAND FALSIFICATION OF MINISTERS

ST. JOHN'S (N'f oundland) , Thu'rs. A cohsultation between tbe Pfemier, Sir R. A. Squires, ahd the Go'vernor, Sir John Middletoh., will determine the form of inquiry t'o be instituted as the result of charges elaborated in the House of Assembly to-day by the Hon. Peter J. Cashin, Minister of Finance and Customs. Mr. Cashin declared he was taking this action because the minutes of the Council had been falsified to facilitate the manipulation of public funds. Such moneys, he said, had been misappropriated. Mr. Cashin named Sir R. A. Squires (Premier and Minister of Justice), the Hon. Dr. A. Campbell (Minister witliout portfolio), and Mr. oWalter Skanes (Liberal), in his charges.
