RELIEF WORKER DROWNED

WANGANUI, Tuesday. Michael Lilles, single, aged 35 years, a native of County Clare, Ireland, was drowned in the Waitotara River near the unemployed camp last evening. He went for a swim in the evening, but did not return. A search resulted in the discovery of the body this morning. Deceased only arrived in the camp last Saturday with a number of other unemployed men from Napier.
