socialists leader's contention LONDON, Tuesday. Mr. George Lansbury, Leader of the Socialist Party in the House of Commons, moved the rejection of the Imports Duties Bill on the ground that its provisions were irrevelant to the present crisis. He claimed that despite her tariffs the United States, which was a ereditor nation, still on the gold standard, and a rich and self-contained country, had 8,000,000 to 12,000,000 unemployed, and it was reported hundreds of children dying, with thousands homeless and starving.
