THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: The cyclone located to the east yesterday, i sslowly moving away. A slight depression is still centered over Tasmania. Pressure is still high in the south and in the north of New Zealand. Forecast: Winds mainly betwee'n south-east and north-east, moderate to strong. Weather: Mainly fair to fine, but some rain in the Auckland province and in parts of the East Coast between Cape Palliser and the East Cape. Follo-wing are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Oh.servation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.776ins.
