A certain amoiln't of difficulty was encountered at first by the exchange staff, as the new board has many different features from the old one and 'took -time to master. Few subscribers, however, were aware of any change in the systefh. After the test, the exch'ahge Was swit'ched baclc to the old board so that final adjustments could be made and any faults rec'tified. This c'ontinUUl swit'chiiig about and the noise of workmen in the exchange room has made working coiiditioiis Very diffi'cUlt fe'cehtly for the staff, but it is not expected that it will be long befofe work is fin'alised and the new system permanently operating.
