KOPURIKI RESIDENT WINS BIG LIMERICK COMPETITION £310 MOTOR CAR PRIZE A competition for the best limerick concerning their trade goods, promoted by the Cambridge Clothing factory, of Auckland, has been won by Mr. D. G. O'Connell, of Kopuriki, who takes as first prize an automobile valued at £310. The competition which extended over the whole Dominion, and drew thousands of entries, was for the best limerick verse introducing Maclone suits for which the promoting company are the distributors. A condition of the competition was that a purchase of a Maclone suit must be made by each entrant, and the suit wbich entitled Mr. O'Connell to enter his winning verse was sold to him by Mr. A. Walden, of Rotorua. The ' winning limerick was as f ollows : — ! Said a tailor, on tour from Tyrone, "Shure, I'd start in a shop of me own, "But me prices are baten', "Oi can't be competin', "Wid the suits by this divil 'Maclone'." Immediately tbe results of the competition wei'e decided, Mr. O'Connell | was notified of bis good fortune, and j yesterday proceeded to Auckland to . take delivery of his prize. The se- ! cond prize was won by Mr. E. Hobbs, I of Edenvale Road, Auckland, and the third by Mr. D. J. Duncan, of 320 Ormond Road, Gisborne.
