WASHINGTON, Thursday. Admiral Taylor radioed the Navy Department to-day that all the Jaii.anese patrols had evacuated the American and British defence sectors in Shanghak "thus easing the situation greatly." . . It is understood that the State, Department meantime had made new representations to Japan regarding the v.se of the International Settlement r.s a base for their activity against Ghina, but that the purpose of these representations had already been acc omplished.
