CAR OVERTURNS BN LOOSE SHINGLE OLD MAN DEAD, SONS INJURED

- CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. , A motor-car travelling between Christchurch and Nelson, and containing five passengers overturned in the loose shingle at Greta, near Cheviot, this morning. The driver and two passengers were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries. One of the passengers, Frank Gleane Perfeet, aged 85 years, of Nelson, died this evening. The driver, Alfred Thomas Perfeet,. son of the deceased, aged 28 years, also of Nelson, and Frank Ingrain Perfeet, another son, aged 35 years, customs officer, of Lyttelton, were in a critical condition when admitted. The two other passengers, Edward Gleane Jones Perfeet and Miss Rose Edith Riley were uninjured.
