ASSOCIATION MEETING
MATCHES ARRANGED The commitee of the Rotorua Cricket Ass'ociation held their f ortnightly meeting on Monday night, Mr. Musgrave presidirig over a good attendance of delegates. Mr. Hinton reported that the Government Grounds were not available for play without matting. The caretaker pointed out that it would be necessary to have water laid to the edge of the square of grass for the | wicket. Mr. Lewis, Mr. Hesketh and the secretary were appointed a committee to wait on the Tourist Department to see if this could be effected. Mr. Hinton reported that in the match played against Whakatane and Te Teko eombined, the Rotorua-Te Puke eombined teams scored 152 runs to 142 by their opponents. A letter was received from the Maniapoto Club at Te Kuiti asking for a match at Rotorua. The secretary was instructed to wire Maniapoto that February 13 was the only available date. It was decided to postpone .club fixtures on February 13, as fhe Rotorua Racing Club were holding their annual fixture. Results of the last series of games were: — Albion 4, v. Mamaku 0; City 3, v. High School 1; Ngongotaha 4, v. Old Boys 0. The draw for the next series will be: City v. Albion, at Government Grounds; High School v. Ngongotaha, at Ngongotaha. Umpires were appointed as follows: City v. Albion, Messrs. Catt and Fuller; Mamaku v. Old Boys, Mr. Brennan; High School v. Ngongotaha, Mr. Pitts, sen. Mamaku were given permission to complete the series of February 6 and February 20 at a later date if not completed on February 6, as the Mamaku sports were being held on February 20. The selectors were instructed to select a team against Maniapoto on February 13. Lists of men available close with the secretary on February 6. Mr. L. Clark was appointed manager of the team for February 13. Albion were given permission to play 'Tauranga, at Tauranga, on February 21. It was decided to record on the minutes the association's gratitude to Mr. M. H. Hampson for entertaining Mr. Holdsworth, the Otago wicket-keeper, during his visit to Rotorua.
