MAN PUTS HAND IN TICKET OFFICE WINDOW AND GRABS CASH WELLINGTON -:THEATKE'S LOSS WELLINGTON, Thursday. Walking up to the box ofiice of the De Luxe Theatre this evening, an unknown man put his hand through the glass pigeon hole and seized a pile of silver colns and decamped down the street. He did not receive mUCh for his daring effort, which was made in broad daylight, for when the cash was checked up, a bare pound was found ta be missing. The theft was made just after the cheap Seats iri the theatre had been sbld and tfferefore, just after the eafly queue had been admitted. Without any ado, the irian went to the ticket box and put his hand through the little hole in the glass. The girl ihside grabbed his arai as he seiaed the cash, hut he tYas too' strong and Vrithdrew it. A caf happened to he passirig at the time, hound for the eastern suburbs via Kilbirnie turinel. This the thief hoarded. The happenittg had heen witnessed by Ofie Of the men ushers who was standing at the main entrance. The usher got on his motor cycle and managed tO stop the car as it was coming from the eastern portals of the tunnel. A search was made, hut* apparently the thief had left the car some time before the tunnel was entered. • ^
