JKec. Jan. 26, 8 p.m. CALCUTTA, Tuesday. The Government's determination tp prevent demonstrations in conneetion with the Congress' Independence Day, is exemplified by an order issued in Calcutta ealling on the Calcutta Coroporation to close all public squares in the city and requiring its obedience. Gandhi's secretary, Pyarelal, who aecompanied him .to England, has been sentenced tp six months' imprisonment with hard labour at Ahmedabad for sedition. Gandhi's European and Indian disciples in .his settlement at Ahmedabad, having refused to pay a revenue demand for £30, the Government confiscated hay and straw valued at that amount. .
