The Government meteorologist issued the following weather rfeport a'nd forecast last .night: — General Situation: A series of rather intense westerly depressions has been crossing the South Tasman Sea artd New Zealand. A moderate anticyplone is now moving off southeatstern Australia. Forecast: Winds moderate to strdrig westerly, of ggje force in places in and South of Cook Strait, later backing to south-west. Weather: Changeable and somewhat sqlially, ,wi±h scattered showers, more especially in dlstricts with a westerly aspect. Tem,peratures be. coming copler to-morrow. Following afe the barometer, maximum'and mFnimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist D'epartment, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yepterday: — Barometer 29.683 ins. THermometer (max.) 78.0 deg,, Thermometer (min. on grass) .... 58.0 deg. Rainfall Nil.
