CONFERENCE RE-CONSIDERS NGINGONGINGO CASE CONFIDENCE AFFIRMED

WELLINGTON, Thursday. At the Trotting Conference to-day, proceedings were in committee. The following resolution was carried: "That clubs be requested to nominate eight members, six from the South Island and two from the North, as candidates for membership of the New Zealand Trotting Association." Such candidates shall he balloted for hy clubs in accordance with Rule 39. The conference also considered an application under Rule 29 to consider a l'etter on'behalf of Mr, R. M. Morton, concernirig the Ngingongingo case. Mr.- Mbrton's counsel addr'essed the "meeting. The fdllowing resolution was carried: — "That this conference affirms its confidence in the President of the Conference and in the judges appointed by him." It was resolved that no aetio'n he taken. A'motion that tmder Rule 29 the case be heard by three judges to be appointed as provided by'Rule 25 was lost.
