LITERATURE AT BATH-HOUSE
BIRD OF PASSAGE.
Sir, — The lounge of the. main Bath House, in the Rotorua Government Grounds, is an attractive resting place for those undergoing treatment, or in attendance on patients. With its spacious halls, its statuary, its magnificent views, its comfortable seats one conld hardly imagine a more detectable spot in v/hich to while away the time of waiting. Having half an hour to wait there to-day I turned over the literature temptingly displayed on the centr»i table. To my dismay the reading matter consisted of : — 1. A Guide to "Hawaii direct from Los Angeles." This document was dated July 1, 1926 and bore a footnoto cautioning readers not to use previous issues! 2. A Guide Book to the Canadian Rockies, dated 1929. 3. Two copies of Physical Culture; one for August, 1930, the other for February 1931. 4. A weekly number of The Tattler for August 1930 and a second for September 1930. A few undated circulars respecting tours, completed the mental distraetion offered patients resting in the lounge, or awaiting treatment. No comment is needed. Generous folk might donate odd (but not archaic) magazines and journals, and so enable the nursing staff at the Government Baths to replace the printed matter now on hand with something of interest. The action would be appreciated. — I am, ete.,
