EXECUTIVE MEETING ARRANGEMENTS IN TRAIN FOR FEBRUARY MEETING DEPUTATION SUGGESTED At a meeting of the executive of the Rotorua Racing Club held earlier in the week, arrangements were niade in connection with the club's forthcoming meeting on February 13 and j/ 15. : There were present the following I members of the executive: — Messrs. I F. Goodson (in the chair), G. Urqu- | hart, C. A. Clarke, J. A. Brown, W. I W. P. Hall, D. Jervis, L". C. Ryan, C. R. Tapper, A H Tripe. Apologies for absence were received from Drs. S. H. Hay, H. Bertram and Mr. W. Galbraith. A letter was received from Mr. D.
G. O'Connell agreeing to act as honorary veterinarian to the club during the forthcoming meeting. The Matamata Racing Club wrote asking the Rotorua Club to associate itself with Matamata representatives in a deputation to the member for the district (Mr. C. H. Clinkard, ( M.P). in connection with the position of racing clubs in general, and with particular reference to financial matters. It was suggested that the meeting might be arranged some time during the forthcoming February meeting. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Emergency Committee. Military Camps The Defence Department wrote advising that the dates for the next military bivouac on Arawa Park had been slightly altered from those originally arranged, and stating that it was proposed to hold a further camp for a short period during May. It was decided that the alterations be approved, and that the extra term be granted rent free. The report of the Legal and Finance Committee was submitted, j and on the motion of the chairman, | it was decided that all matters rais- | ed in the report be held over until I after the race meeting. j The Grounds and Works Commit- | tee also reported. Mention was made I in the report of the possibility of em- | ploying relief labour, and this matter I was left to the sub-committee with i power to act. Meeting Arrangements On the motion of Mr. Clarke it was j decided that arrangements in con- ! nection with the management of the gates should be similar to those adopted last year. It was decided that facilities for j investment should be the same as i those obtaining at the last meeting, 1 j viz., 10/- outside, and 10/-, £1, and j 55. and commissions inside. It was 1 also decided that there should be a | predominance of 10/- investment wini dows, and that arrangements should be rnade to reserve at least two windows for lady investors only. It was resolved that passes from the inside to the outside lawn be discontinued, and that the 3tiles' in the lawn fence be cQmpletely blocked up. The following new members were elected: Messrs. L. E. Dixon (Rotorua), E. G.' Fraser (Rotorua), P. Ivinninmont (Rotorua) , W. Monk, jun. (Rotorua), D. G. O'Connell (Kopuriki), F. Stanier (Rotorua), J. H. Watson (Rotorua), and A V. P. Ford (Auckland) .
