BRISBANE, Wednesday. .The North Queensland floods reached the highest l'evel for eighteen years. Miles of sugar cane land is submerged. Cairns is isoiated except by sea, and business is at a standstill there, also at Townsville and irinisfail. A girl was dfowned near Irinisfail. Boats are lying in the latter place. Rain has now ceased, but .cyclonic conditions prevail, high winds ravaging the ivhole of the northern coast, working down to New SQuth Wales.
