Dry weather has been responsible for a reduction of 5 per -cent. in supplies received by the Cambridge dairy factor.y for December. The December pay-out will be 10M per lb. for cheese and 9|d for b'utter. The j total amount received by suppliers ! for December was £23,313, as against £25,002 for the coiresponding period last year, when the basis of payment' was 10 ld for cheese and 9§d for butter. On the total for the season the company has paid out, so far, £106,353, as against £113,323, showing a decrease of £6,970. Bruntwood supplies were also down 7,0001bs. The advance made was lOd for cheese, making a total of £2,933 10s, as against £3,219 10s ld for December last year. It is reported by the "Bay of Plenty Times" that important. proposals are on foot for the settlement of some 6.000 acres of land near Matata Railway Station on the group system. It is understood that the land will be -u.hdivided into 25 to 30 sections. The area to he acquired is the prouerty of Mr. J. Paterson, of Auckland.
