SIX MONTHS' DELAY
(P'oss Assn.-
lausanne conference will favour extension of moratorium PLAN GENERALLY SUPPORTED
— By Telegraph — Copyright).
Rec. Jan. 18, 11.36 p.m. LONDON, Monday. The "Daily Telegraph's" diplomatic correspondent states it is now expected that the Lausanne Reparations Conference will pronounce in favour of an extension of the moratorium for six months, and will then adjourn for the same period. Indications in the United States at present are that any further prolongation of the moratorium will be opposed. In any case France will attend Lausanne in a reluctant and distrustful spirit. The Bank of England also favours a postponement for six months as it holds that anything short of an allroun^d cancellation will be worse than no settlement at all.
