public misled HAMILTON MAN'S EXPERIMENT PROVES SUBSTITUTION IN BRITAIN INFERIOR ARTICLE OFFERED

HAMILTON, Wednesday. When Mr. H. D. Caro, of Hamilton, was in England recently he heard criticisms of New Zealand butter purehased in shops. In order to test whether there was any diff erence between the article thus hought and that contained in the unbroken box as shipped from New Zealand, he instructed his London agents to purchase and forward a 561b box ex ship to some friends in Birmingham. Yesterday he received th6 following information from the recipients. "You are quite right. It is a perfect butter, quite different from the N'ew Zealand butter which we get in the shops. I "cut it up into parcels for friends) who ffiave been absolutely thriiled with it." Asked if he could explain why this difference existed, a prominent dairy factory manager said it was a difficult matter from this ehd to arrive at a conclusion.
