INVERCARGILL, Wednes. The Inspector of Police here received word from Edendale late tonight that two masked men, one carrying a z'ifle, entered the premises of the Bank of New South Wales there to-night. It is stated that the manager and his wife were in the kitchen, to which the intruders made their way. One is reported to have attacked the wife of the manager and the other is believed to have held up the manager with the rifle, but apparently without success.
