AUCKLAND, Monday. As a sequel to the discovery by the police on Saturday of 500 counterfeit £1 notes, a man named Harry Dawson (48), a hatter, was charged at the Police Count with uttering a forged note and being in unlawful possession of one. Accused was remanded for a week the police saying a lot of inquiries would have to he made.
