MAJESTIC THEATRE
The presentation of the successful record-breaking musicomedy, Diane Develops" is set down for the Majestic Theatre on Thursday and Friday night. The story concerns one of those imaginary kingdoms in Central Europe allowing full scope for beautiful Balkan colourings.
Yide the "Taranaki Herald": — "In support of the excellent cast of prin-' j cipals was a very fine chorus, they | were well trained and sang with tuneful vigour — the dressing was gorgeous and many ensembles were a riot of colour. The whole performance gave evidence of careful direction and may be generally classed as one of the best successes produced here hy Messrs. Cardston and Baxter." Commenting upon the Masterton presentation, the "Wairarapa Age," states: — "It ean be justly claimed 'Diane Develops' is one of the finest and most successful productions yet staged in Masterton. From the rise to fall of curtain the packed audience was kept genuinely amused and the applause, which at all times was hearty, on many oecasions rose to an ovation. The audience enjoyed the initial Cardston and Baxter production immensely, and at times rocked with laughter." With all the aforementioned and many other laudatory remarlcs by numerous and other newspapers, Rotorua playgoers will surely see that "Diane Develops" is not a production of the bubble and froth variety. Wholesome amusement, fiashing lights and costumes, mellifluous music all combined make indeed a show surpassing brilliance. The beautiful Mannequin Parade in Act 3, has been generously supplied from the Priseilla Art Depot, and will surely appeal to the niale as well as the gentler sex. Nothing like the Lilac scene in Act I has been seen in Rotorua. Reservations are now on view at the Majestic Confectionery.
