DOWNFALL NEXT MONTH PREDICTED BY CANDIDATE SUPPORTERS DISILLU SIONED
-By Telegraph — Copyright).
SYDNEY, Tues. Prophesying the early downfall of the Lang Government, Mr. C. Robinson, one of the defeated anti-Labour candidates in the recent Federal elections, told the audience at the declaration of the Cook poll that he was in possession of information which would cheer the hearts of the people in New South Wales. This, said Mr. Robinson, was to the effect that some of Mr. Lang's hitherto loyal followers would cross the ftoor when the Legislative Assembly met next month. Mr. Robinson said the fate of the Lang Government was npw entirely in the hands of Mr. T. A. Bavin, the Leader of the Opposition. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says there. is eonsiderable speculation in political and financial circles as to whether there will be sufficient funds in the Treasury to pay all the civil servants' salaries next Thursday. The view is held in certain political *quarters that Mr. Lang may be forced to go to the country at an early date in view of the financial position.
