The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and J forecast last night: — 1 Ge'neral Situation. 'A moderate 1 depression is crossing the South Is- I • land, and a slight anti-cyclone is ) now moving on to the Tasman Sea. | Forecast: Winds moderate to- strong north-westerly at first, North of Greymouth and Kaikoura, elsewbere westerly. South westerlys extending over the whole Dominion duri'ng the night. Weather: Unsettied with some rain in most .districts, but only iight and scattered in the interior and in the eastern districts. Temperatures cooler. • • Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday:— - - Barometer 29.885ins, Thermometer (max.) 71.2deg.
